RICHARD CHILDERS
President of Abacus Foundation Repair
When Richard was a young man, he attended Art School and traveled the country to present his paintings is many exhibitions. In 1968, Richard enlisted with the United States Army to serve our country. His passion for art continued while in the military. His paintings took 1st and 2nd place at the Third U.S. Army Art Contest and Fifth All Army Art Contest at Fort Benning, Georgia. Richard was Honorably Discharged in the 1973 and when he returned home to Texas, he began his career in the construction industry. So, what does an artist and the construction industry have in common? The answer is painting! With Richard’s keen eye and attention to detail, he made a name for himself in residential and commercial painting. After several years of painting, Richard expanded into commercial remodels and new construction and then onto residential remodels. Many years were spent remodeling homes and the need for foundation repair were evident more often than not. This is when Richard met Emilio Vasquez.

EMILIO VASQUEZ
Vice Pesident of Abacus Foundation Repair
Emilio was born and raised in the small town of Rio Lindo, Honduras. To escape the poverty in Honduras, at the very young of age of 15 Emilio left his home and headed to California. He became a legal resident of the United States and enrolled in school to pursue the American Dream. After school, Emilio began working for a large construction company, after just two years he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent and quickly worked his was up to a Superintendent for film set construction firm. In 1997, Emilio moved to Texas to be closer to family. When Emilio moved to Texas, he began working in the foundation repair industry where he met Richard.

At ABACUS FOUNDATION REPAIR, our mission is to provide high-quality foundation repair services to homeowners in our community. We are committed to ensuring the safety and stability of our clients' homes.
Over the years, Abacus became a family business with Richard’s wife, Kelly joining in the day to day operations as the Chief Financial Officer. Throughout the years, Richard’s two sons, Blake and Austin would work alongside Richard, Emilio and our crews repairing foundations. They both learned firsthand the hard work and knowledge that it takes to properly repair a home. After college, Blake and Austin joined Abacus full time. Their education and vast knowledge have helped grow Abacus Foundation Repair into successfully helping homeowners today.
